- October 14, 2009 - In the latest move to extend its presence in continental Europe by establishing a German office I joined The Alta Group, the premier global asset finance and equipment leasing consultancy, as an Associate in its EMEA Region. Based in Frankfurt I will use my particular strengths in business management and development, including multi-country vendor programmes, enjoying the challenge of establishing new-start asset finance companies. My focus is on Germany, Austria and Switzerland supporting the EMEA team at Alta, but wordlwide business as well.
Before I founded my own comapny using more than 8 years of experience in Credit Management plus over 15 years of experience in European and Worldwide Vendor Leasing - offering Interim Management (project management, consultancy services and more) to small, mid-size and large companies who require the skills and services of an Interim Manager on an as needed basis.
Until 31st December 2008 I was Sales Manager for DELL Financial Services (DFS Global Accounts) across Continental Europe. Key was to plan, drive and develop the worldwide business for DELL key accounts headquartered in Continental Europe but to work in other areas like business and product development, marketing, operations, credit and others to develop and support the overall vendor relation with DELL. Key to this challenge is working with SMTs (Senior Management Teams), especially COO (sourcing), CFO (finance), CEO (project decision and management), to run integrated partnerships as a global sourcing partner for customers.
Before of that I was International Vendor Manager of Deutsche Leasing Group in Europe. With assets of more than $10 billion, Deutsche Leasing provides loans, operating leases, financial programs and other services. Responsible for all activities in tool and plastic machinery I was working from the UK to Russia in 12 countries, most of it via local entities. Deutsche Leasing did to start vendor activities in China and the US during this time as well.
Previously, I was MD and European Sales Manager of Heller Financial Services, Inc. for the European business at German speaking countries, especially the subsidiaries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
I am a member of the Institute for Leasing at the University of Cologne. From 1997 till 2000 I was studying at the “The Chartered Institute of Marketing”, Cookham, UK finally getting the examination “Graduate Diploma in Marketing (DipM MCIM)”. I received my B.A. degree in Finance from the Bank Academy in 1986.

I work very closely with Dell here in Australia, always careful not to step on the DFS toes though, we have many mutual clients and our offering also includes logistics services we aften partner with Dell to provide service delivery.

Look forward to share views / ideas with you. Coming from Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) and having set up the Lease business for DEC together with De Lage Landen (Rabobank) we may find lots of interesting things to discuss. I was also involved in setting up the lease business for Fujitsu-Siemens Computers and worked amongst others on lease business / projects for: EMC2, Microsoft and SAP.
